they they can't seem to figure it out we'll just have to wait for solar edge get back to them. I still want to know with owner access why I can't set the rules myself?

They edit the alert and out in the person email address of the account to notify on an individual system

This guy on the phone is more than willing to give me access but its just not working where i can see the "show rules" button to create alerts. He sent an email to solar edge so will have to wait to them to respond but in the meantime I hope you might have some insight as well.

    Thanks
You might have to have an installer account already to be associated.
the installer can set up rules that notify you and you should be able to see them

I had noted snow and cold weather so I had been clearing the alerts in the area till the weather warmed up more but I took a closer look at it while they were on the phone. It really seemed to be snow on part of the array. I mentioned that the snow fall they had was likely still on that part of the array and they could go outside and check to be sure. They laughed and said oh we forgot about the weather, up there. We have been in FL for almost a month. They sent me an email latter with a photo of the snow on that part of the array taken by a neighbor of theirs...
I'm on the phone with the solar company now and he sent me screen shots where they have the Owner box checked and I have full access yet I still don't see the "Show Rules" button in the Alerts? Do i need to have installer account to set alerts and see that button you think?

Makes complete sense, from a homeowner perspective i would know if weather impacted those false positives, I can see why they might set alerts for a week out if they monitor so many systems. Waiting for them to respond to see if they give me access now.

There are false positives with the defaults as several of the alerts will go off after 24 hours of no information which can be triggered by network outages, solaredge monitoring site slow, poor weather (really bad weather or snow to give zero production), and grid outages.

It is likely less of an issue for you as an owner with one site, but the key to installers monitoring is to change some of the defaults to 2 days. This avoids MOST of the obvious weather, grid outages, etc. and cuts way back on the false alerts. Then go through the allerts daily and clear the ones that are clearly weather related, SolarEdge even shows weather right on the main page for each site making it pretty easy (hay it snowed yesterday and been below freezing since, Modules are likely covered with snow...).

Well few small and even large installers ACTUALLY monitor proactively.

Well in installer you can change things that you can't with the other levels. You can also screw things up with installer access.
