ButchDeal you mentioned you have more info than the LCD using the monitoring app. Can you be more specific what it allows? Thanks
The web app gives everything on the LCD plus statistics, graphs, alerts, dc voltages at many points, amps, watts, AC voltage, amps, watts
you can add revenu grade as well as consumption,
historic on everything. If you can get it on the LCD you have it remote including an LCD simulator...

The advantage of the web app is that you can look at it from your couch or when traveling the world. I have used it to tell if my power is out during PG & E power outages.

I had a new HD-Wave Solaredge inverter w/o LCD installed about two weeks ago. You can still get all the same information from the LCD using the Solaredge SetApp available on your cell phone. When it asks for a password, choose "View Only" and follow the directions. You have to be next to the inverter to do so. The new cellular monitoring connection samples data every five minutes, updates the production every 15 minutes, and works flawlessly. My installer says there are also a number of internal upgrades to the new inverters which make them more dependable than the old ones with LCD. He mentioned that any LCD models which go down get replaced with the new ones w/o LCD. So far he hasn't had to replace any of the new ones.

          Thanks guys for the feedback.

I have not heard back from the installer about giving me owner access. When i log in I do have an "Admin Tab" that will allow me to change the background in the monitoring app but everything else is the basic info i assume everyone has. Nothing in there that would give me the same info as the LCD.

Yes you have to be right next to it and initiate the inverter to start its wifi mode to connect to the SSID. Not the most convenient way to check when prior it was just a button. Unfortunately it does not work at all on my android phone with older software. I tested on another device and it did work.

AFter asking my installer they gave me addl. privileges within the Solaredge monioring app. Now when I log in I have tabs for: Dashboard, Layout, Charts, Reports, Alerts, and Admin. Really nothing that interesting has been added. I find that if I want more in depth data and or charting, PVOutput is better for that.

BTW, the addl. tabs only appear on the Solaredge monitoring website. My phone app still has only Dashboard and Layout tabs.

I already have all those tabs when I login, but I don't think that is what ButchDeal is talking about. B/c those tabs don't give you the same info as the LCD.

                ButchDeal can you please confirm?

My solar company contacted me and told me they had already given me full owner access.

Not sure what ButchDeal was talking about in terms of info being available that is on the LCD and more. The LCD info is certainly not available in these tabs. No insight if it is in night mode, how many panels/optimizers are working, if the Cell connection is working or not etc. I think this is only available through the SetApp which replaced the LCD but i could be wrong.

If you have full owner access then you have access to see the lcd imulator which shows you what would be in the LCD. What tabs do you have in the monitoring web page? are you trying to use the app instead of web page?

you deffinitly have insight into how many optimizers are working, night mode,

if you are in layout right click on the inverter and you can see the inverter status
you should also what optimizers are working or you can run a report, or chart their out put all of which will tell you if any are not working
or you can set up alerts so it texts you if an optimizer is off line...

                        multiple places.

If you go to Layout you should see any non-working optimizers/PV modules as off or red. In alerts you would see that too.
You should also see the production from each module and you can select "Show playback" to see the daily output over time.

If you right click on the inverter in Layout view you can select "View Device Screen" and go through the LCD screen information.

under reports you can do a Site status report..

IF you select The Alerts tab you should see any alerts (if you set up alerts for failed optimizers) ..

also under layout right click on inverter and select info will show the inverter status as inverting, standby, night, etc.

I've been monitoring the system daily for over a year now and never has the PV module gone red so I assume its always been 18/18. I've also looked at every single option on the portal and I assure you it does not give you the same info as the LCD.

I had the issues recently with the inverter and not one single alert about issues showed up there. I also ran a report and nothing at all showed up other than 0 issues. Not to mention there is no error codes of any kind that you would see on the LCD which would show up in this portal. When my inverter failed the portal showed no production, that is it, nothing more, no errors, nothing. I had to look at the LCD screen to see all the different error codes.

Under Alerts there is no way to create alerts, at least i don't have that option. I'm looking at it now. you can sort and filter but there is nothing to sort through or filter, its all blank.

So still unclear how you can get the LCD info and more with this app? No way to view error codes, no way to confirm the Cell SIM Status and connectivity? More than half the screens on the LCD are no where near accessible on this app with the "Owner" permissions. At a glance I agree if you look at layout that likely tells you the PV module reported, not sure sure about night mode other than the fact it shows 0 output that does not really mean it is in night mode. To say it provides the same info and more is a bit miss leading. Clearly it falls short on providing a lot of data you can get from the LCD or the new SetApp if you ask me.

Guess I'll have to keep waiting to see what kind of access the solar company gives me for the SetApp.

You mentioned you can set alerts, i would love to but I don't see that option and the solar company says i have full owner rights. Maybe you have different rights than full owner rights.

I should add you are correct in clicking on the inverter and info it shows inverter status, that would cover (night mode) i assume. Still would like to know more info about cell connectivity and error codes. Certainly having the LCD was easy, press one button you get the module status and what mode it was in with a single glance.

you can see the LCD interface from the web montoroing page for one thing... so it shows all ALL of the LCD infor since it shows the LCD screen .

night mode (as i mentioned before) is listed if you right click on the inverter and select info. Pretty simple.
                                You can see error codes.
to get allerts you have to enable and set them up. Click on "show rules" then open a rule... make sure to set notification.

i have monitoried a lot more than a single inverter for longer than one year.
I assure you that you can get the info if you have the access
