You can though set up an installer account and ask them to associate you to the ONE inverter you are on.
We have hundreds of associations with installers and individual system associations at full access.

The installer can add the owner to all rules also...

That would be great if i can setup those alerts. I sent the solar company an email showed them the screen shot you provided for setting rules. Lets see if they give me "Owner" access instead of Full Access

Hi. They told me that only one account can have owner rights, if they give me the owner rights thry won't be able to monitor as well. If that is not true can you please post a screenshot of where they can give me owner access and still be able to monitor using their own account. I was under the impression multiple accounts can have owner access. Thanks

OK that is BS and they just don't know what they are talking about.

There can be MANY owner accounts but their account is NOT owner but installer.
and further there can be multiple installer accounts associated with the same inverter.
here is one with two owners and both I and the installer also have "Installer" level access:

and this is how they set it:

        Admin2.jpg

They can also associate other installers (they have to make the association in a different area but grant it on site by site like this).
NOTE this is one I set up and associated back to the original install so we both have full installer access.

Is there anything more i can gain by having "installer" access or is owner pretty much good enough for everything I want to monitor and setup alerts on. I'm hoping at minimum they give me owner access since the excuse only one account have have it no longer valid.

            Thanks again for your help

Well in installer you can change things that you can't with the other levels. You can also screw things up with installer access.

Got it thanks, it doesn't sound like I need installer access. Not trying to be greedy but when my system is down for 2 days and I'm the first to notice this is a problem.

Well few small and even large installers ACTUALLY monitor proactively.

You are right, it is clear they don't so I would rather take that role and set daily alerts for myself. I have no problem monitoring my system daily.

There are false positives with the defaults as several of the alerts will go off after 24 hours of no information which can be triggered by network outages, solaredge monitoring site slow, poor weather (really bad weather or snow to give zero production), and grid outages.

It is likely less of an issue for you as an owner with one site, but the key to installers monitoring is to change some of the defaults to 2 days. This avoids MOST of the obvious weather, grid outages, etc. and cuts way back on the false alerts. Then go through the allerts daily and clear the ones that are clearly weather related, SolarEdge even shows weather right on the main page for each site making it pretty easy (hay it snowed yesterday and been below freezing since, Modules are likely covered with snow...).

Makes complete sense, from a homeowner perspective i would know if weather impacted those false positives, I can see why they might set alerts for a week out if they monitor so many systems. Waiting for them to respond to see if they give me access now.

You would think so. I did once get a call from a couple with a house in michigan with solar on 3 faces (E,S, & W). The west array was out for the past week and they wanted to know what was going on. I had noted snow and cold weather so I had been clearing the alerts in the area till the weather warmed up more but I took a closer look at it while they were on the phone. It really seemed to be snow on part of the array. I mentioned that the snow fall they had was likely still on that part of the array and they could go outside and check to be sure. They laughed and said oh we forgot about the weather, up there. We have been in FL for almost a month. They sent me an email latter with a photo of the snow on that part of the array taken by a neighbor of theirs...

I'm on the phone with the solar company now and he sent me screen shots where they have the Owner box checked and I have full access yet I still don't see the "Show Rules" button in the Alerts? Do i need to have installer account to set alerts and see that button you think?

He tried to add my email under Associated Accounts and it gives an error " Incorrect email address provided, please enter an administrator email address in the associated account"

This guy on the phone is more than willing to give me access but its just not working where i can see the "show rules" button to create alerts. He sent an email to solar edge so will have to wait to them to respond but in the meantime I hope you might have some insight as well.

                                Thanks
