    EBAY grid tied system... is it worth it?

    Hey all,

    I am a complete novice to the whole natural energy thing and am planning on building a wind generator for fun but obviously if don't right it will have benefits as well. I am also going to put up a solar power system and was looking around to see what's out there.. I came across this kit on EBAY. Has anyone bought, used, know of this kit and is it actually worth it. I priced the items individually and it seems as though it's a good deal.. any input is greatly appreciated.

    Not legal to connect to grid in USA.

    And it's a KIT. Actually, only a PARTIAL kit. You need frames, glass, backing, glues...

    If you have built panels before, and can solder, you could have fun with this, but it IS pretty advanced, with the J boxes that mount on the backside of your panels. But I'd bet 9.5 out of 10 people off the street, will fail this.

    || Midnight Classic 200 | 10, Evergreen 200w in a 160VOC array ||

      Thanks again Mike,

      I appreciate the heads up. I'm pretty DIY inclined. Been in all aspects of construction for about 15 years but I am surely not looking for project that will fail, and for $1000.00 for this kit, after what you have stated and other research I've done, I don't think it's worth it.
      I have already contacted one of the links that you had posted for me the other day and am waiting for a response.

      I still want to make a solar panel but, it won't be to power my house. Maybe a couple lights in my screen room.

      Again, Mike, I really appreciate the info and that you offer it free of charge. I'm all for "paying it forward".
