Not sure if I have this right, but by simple math: If your house is using 5kw and you system is producing 8kw, 5kw of usage would be absorbed from the house from your generated 8kw power leaving 3kw overproduction left over. So even if you dont have reverse/sell back utility meter, you should only be getting charged for the 3kw overproduction (which is messed up to pay to feed back but...) not 13kw.

I'm seriously glad I found this forum.. My initial plan was to build my own system, and connect it myself to the grid. At least I have the frame of mind to research before I blow my house up..
