So I want to build a solar array to power a 210w 28Vdc load, (100-240V Ac 300Va). When there is not enough sun I require power and will use a generator. I have read a bit about Automatic switching pannels but cannot find much information about them. Basically I require a device that is capable of detaching the load from the battery bank and starting a generator that is connected directly to the load. Is this possible and what are the best models?

There is no such thing asAutomatic switching pannels
Your post is a bit confusing . Is your load DC or AC ?? 210W or 300VA ??
Not many things can be easily switched from 28VDC to 240VAC
There are some large inverters with integral transfer switches, and Auto-Generator start capability.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||
|| Midnight Classic 200 | 10, Evergreen 200w in a 160VOC array ||

Hi sorry for the confusion the load can be run off both DC and AC as it contains its own power regulation unit, it is a Lidar unit used for surveying wind speeds and has the capability of running of both Dc and Ac. The actual switching is values as quoted above are not relevant, what I need information about is actual Automatic transfer switches models and manufacturers.Comment

Automatic Transfer Switch
Google search is your friend. then the shopping tab
$90 and up, depending on the size of the contacts (ampacity)
