    New and sharing system

    Hello,
I am new to the forum and just wanted to share my system details. I have 24 305 watt Astroenergy panels running into one SolarEdge 3800 and one SolarEdge 5000 inverter. I am also using the optimizers on every panel. My total system output is 7,440 and even in early March I was making 6.8 KWh peak. I have $15,000 invested in my system before incentives and I installed it myself with a few friends. My website has a lot of the install details and well as the monitoring details that includes hard numbers. Feel free to check it out here: http://joshuablaylock.com/?p=68

Enjoy, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi, are you using the P300 or P350 optimizers? Would there be clipping with the P300 and a 305W panel? Also, any reason to go with two inverters over one? I'm contemplating a similar solaredge setup.

Thanks for the info, good to hear from self installers. I am curious, why production
March 17/18 seems to be zero. Bruce Roe

The unit was actually down those days for network wiring and finishing install, not related to performance.

I am actually using the P400s to prevent any possible clipping. I went with two inverters as I am running two strings of 12 panels for a 240v circuit. The second inverter running the top 12 panels is a 5000 watt and I got the extra so I could add a wind turbine if the panels do not create enough electric. I actually live in a 8 mph average zone.

            Model/Maufacturer discovery question

            josh26757,

I'm used to only seeing the "Dashboard" and "Layout" views in the web interface. As a self-installer you get the rest of the views.

When you scanned the power optimizers into the site plan, was there an automatic discovery of the panel Model/Manufacturer type? Or is that something you needed to manually enter?

I ask because during installation, my installer mentioned that *most* of my panels ended up being upgraded from 290w to 295w since they ran out of the 290w's. When I look in the SolarEdge web interface, the layout says all panels are 295w.

In my case it's only an 80w cumulative difference, but just wanted to be clear on what equipment is on my roof.

            Thanks!
