1 string 2 different orientations to do or not to do?

Question about 1 String, two different orientations.
For example the string is 18 panels of 540 Watt. 14 panels are facing East and four panels are facing south. The string is connected with one MPPT input in the inverter.
Is this a good solution or not?

Current from PV panels is directly related to the intensity of the sun hitting them. The lowest current producing panel in a string will dictate the entire string's output. Having the two south facing panels will adversely affect the morning output of the easterly oriented panels. Also the easterly facing will affect the output of the two south facing panels. Basically a bad idea to mix orientations in a string. You might get more total output if you remove the two odd panels.

What inverter are you using? 18 540's is an awful lot of power for one input on an inverter. Many string inverters have two or three inputs now so you could do two strings for two directions and be fully optimized.
Inverter manufacturers usually have a "string sizing tool" available on their website so you can verify that the exact string arrangement your are considering will work right.

AMEN, all the panels in a string should have the same orientation, and
the same general shade situation. I do not see any different opinions
on this.
What has been discussed a lot is having different entire strings with
different orientation, there is not a one-fits-all answer. I have 12 strings
with 4 different orientations, to deal with clouds here. Bruce Roe

Yes, having mismatched panels in a string is not desirable. Having multiple orientations is going to challenge the MPPT controller to find the optimum efficiency

It may work OK but definitely not a good solution.

If multiple string orientations is a good solution, is entirely dependent
on the intentions of the system designer. It is the only way to get
155 KWH from 15KW of inverters in one day, some would call that a
10.3 sun hour day. It happens on good sun days most months of the
year here. Sorry I cannot pull up the hourly curve, but the software
here suddenly will not allow it.

My inverters have no trouble keeping on the MPPT point, nor do I see

I see this inverter has inputs for 10 strings.
