I have a 4 amorphous, 4 monocrystalline, and 1 polycrystalline solar panels that I would like to use to charge one battery. Is it possible to use different kinds of solar panels in one set up?

Very doubtful because none of the panels Imp or Vmp are not likely matched. Only way you could do it is with 3 separate charge controllers.MSEE, PE -
1) You probably can't use an MPPT controller because the different panel VI curves will confuse it.
2) You can use a standard PWM controller provided all panels are about the same voltage (specifically that they all have a Vmp above about 16 volts.)
3) If you do that, you will lose whatever amount of power exists above about 14 volts. As long as all are 12V panels that won't be a huge amount of power lost.Comment
