Hi all. We are a retired English couple in rural Basilicata, in the South of Italy. Being on a hill, we have a very broad horizon and usually lots of sun (and wind as well, but that's another story!). It seems stupid for us to be using Russian gas (which most of Italy's power comes from) when we have ample sun here. After several years and two failed attempts (due to the perils of Italian bureaucracy) we are now about to have a 5.4 kw (12 panel) solar system installed, plus a heat pump and new solar hot water panel. I am sure I will have lots ofquestions and look forward to using the forum.

Sounds like a great install, hope you will give more details including
operational figures. Your equipment is similar in operation to mine,
am avoiding paying for gas energy, or even a connect fee.

Welcome! This is a great forum. I am also new to solar, after a year of contemplating, we had a comprehensive hybrid system designed and installed on our home. It was a sizeable investment that did provide some rather incredible anxiety at first. The folks on this forum took the time to answer my questions, address my concerns and get me settled down.
Best of luck with your install!
