I guess we may never know how much research the OP did to reach his conclusion. No one asked. That was the kind of clarifying question that might have shed light on the subject. He did clarify that he was concerned with increased rates so it sounded like he was trying to find ways to find a way to hedge his costs.

You may be correct on your assumption. I guess I get a little put off when someone comes into the forum asking questions and providing minimal information concerning their system or desires and then gets upset when I try to give them some reality to what it costs.

I am not a mind reader and may get short with people that don't have a clue on what is needed yet want to power their home from batteries.

IMO they seem to have been brainwashed by the "greenies" saying we can all go to 100% renewable energy by the year XXXX. It is not going to happen throughout the US and a lot of people will be greatly disappointed when the truth comes out.
