Need help to start a solar co operative in Regina-Sask, Canada

    Hello,
Glad to find this forum. I am a renewable energy enthusiast and am thinking to start a solar energy co operative in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada area. As my background is business consulting, technically i am nill but have a passion. Would like to have all the tech peoples feed back on this and would appreciate if someone who is physically in this area, contact me , if interested , so we could make a team and move forward.
I am thinking of going to Hillsdale community in Regina, and then propose to the residents of forming a co operative which would help people get the solar equipment errected.
I am thinking to procure the components from Can/US sources and then have 1-2 technical persons while hiring volunteers from local SIAST (Technical Institute) as technicians.
any help, input would be much appreciated.

Sounds to me like you're forming an installation company not a coop. Unless the plan is for the coop to own the equipment. Better check how the feed in tariff's and net metering work before going much further.

Like Rich said - Your first stops have to be:

      1) At the utility office to see what is possible according to them

      2) Canadian government sites (and there are very good ones) to see what they say

      3) Your lawyers office to see if there is any potential

YOu may want to check out this group. Its in the US. I believe they offer a CD on how to set up an energy cooperative.

They are "peak oilers" but if you cut through the occasional paranoia, they have a good regional concept.

We can help with the product information

          Dear,

I have the product information on the solar PV panels. And there are engineers in our factory as well. If you need any technological support, you can come to me for help.

@ lightsky - the link was removed - the site is not an advertising link for you.

If you wish to participate for all to see that is fine.
