    This is a Fantastic website...

An I am glad I found it again. I registered long ago, but lost track of this site just after registering. Am glad to be back. My name is "Calgirl" but I have moved to Fla to get away from the taxes, etc. I have purchased a charge controller, inverter, and various other connection/disconnect boxes, etc. I've even half-built two panels of 36 cells but have not finished either of them as I got cought up on how to protect them from the humidity.
The Sylgard seems quite expensive, so for $32 I am going to try the knock-off "Solar-Tite". While searching around I found this great video presentation for newbies on how to construct a panel...of course, they are trying to sell their pre-made frames and tempered glass, but the videos (3) are awfully good productions. The url is: affordablesolarframes.com. I am thinking of using cells from my half-done panels and making the panels the way the video shows. Except, I'll do it the DIY way and buy my own "L" shaped aluminum and my own brackets, etc.

Anyway, I have spent mucho time reading posts here, and have learned a lot.....I thank you all for that.

I do have a question.....I am planning on buying a couple deep cycle 12V AGM sealed batteries. I want to put the batteries and all the control equipment in a cabinet in my rec. room inside the house and just one wall away from where the panels will be. Do you'all think it is safe to have sealed AGM batteries inside of the house?

    Welcome back Calgirl,

We will see what others have to say about the battery location but I have the AGM batteries for the alarm system and door locks inside the house.

your kind words regarding the community are greatly appreciated Calgirl. I'm glad your back

It may be beneficial to ask your question in a separate thread and in the appropriate forum.

that way others can benefit from your question and others can find it easier to answer it.

      Thanks so much.
