    Greeting from Florida; Happy Thanksgiving!

I've always been interested in solar but recently moreso as the issues of
the times seem to warrant it more and more.

Right now I have a solar cell (PV) bank charger for charging my smart phones
and devices. Crikey I live in Florida the Sunshine state so I should make better
    use of it eh?

I am currently looking at other ways I can use solar. I think everyone should consider
more solar in one way or another. Heck they don't have to go total solar for their
home or business but they can consider small ways like charging devices. Save a few
amps here and there will not only help, save money but help educate others too.

There are several ways I am involved. As an investor in the stock market I watch
what is happening and find out who the leaders are. As an activist I have a petition
drive planned for Floridians for Solar Choice.

Very interested in using more and more solar energy in my day to day activities.

    Any Nuff said,

Everyone have a Happy Thanks Giving. The sun is shining here and I am charging up.

Thanks for the welcome. How are you involved with solar energy?

Any sell solar energy produced electricity back to the utility company? FPL or Duke.

I was talking to the building official of my city and he said some who had solar energy units
installed were able to sell it the the utility. I had heard about this practice in Tenn but not
        here in Florida.

I believe both Duke and FPL have some type of net metering contracts which allow the home owner to sell excess back to their POCO.

I do not have solar but am a big supporter of it. Currently I would be in Duke's area.

            Hi RayO,

I'm in Brevard and have FPL and I am getting ready to turn on my system soon. With FPL, they do pay you for the excess you export to the grid, but I don't believe they give you retail for the excess. For the small solar owner, that is a really tough way to make your money. You are better off sizing your system so that you break even or actually still import a portion of your energy.

                Hi Ray,

I'm in the area and will try to make it to the seminar as long as my better half doesn't plan otherwise for me.

Look forward to having your there Tim. If this is successful I'd like to start a solar energy users group for our area. Bring in speakers to talk about solar energy both with 'Off the Grid" and
"On the Grid' systems.Maybe even a field trip to a major installation like Kennedy Space Center.

This whole thing reads less like a seminar and more like a lead generator to me. Check the tree hugger speaker/rubber chicken circuit site EcoSpeakers.com. Just sayin'.
