    MPPT algorithm

MPPT charge controllers can run DC load simultaneously while charging batteries. How do they do that?
Can I run a DC load directly on solar power using MPPT without connecting BATTERIES to it?

I seriously doubt you can do that. Most MPPT CC require a battery source to be connected to it first. This allows the CC to "boot up" and get ready to do it's job which is charging a battery.

The CC are designed that way and will not start up or work if you connect a pv panel to it first.

Also to answer your first question, the way power "flows" through the CC from a pv panel is that it will first go to the battery charging system and if the battery is close to fully charged the CC goes to "float" charge which does not require as much amp so the excess will then go to the load.

Every one I have seen requires a battery. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish it is possible to use a small inexpensive and/or used battery though just to keep the CC happy (still a few guidelines you want to stay within).
