Hi everyone. Great resource you have here. I have recently drilled a couple water wells on my 127 acre recreation property. 180 ft and 340 ft. I'm looking to put a solar pump on the deep well to run into my trout pond which is only about half full right now. When full it will be about 25 feet deep and roughly 3/4 of an acre in size. The static water level on the 340 ft well is 167 ft. After reading some posts here it looks like the grundfos is a pretty good option. I will keep reading in the water pumps forum to learn more. Thanks for the great posts and look forward to reading more.

The idea water pumping situation is where you can run a low capacity pump over a number of hours instead of intermittently pumping up a pressurized system. You should be able to find what you need.
But if you also have grid power available, running the pump(s) directly off solar PV, especially if you have to add batteries to the system, is likely to cost you more than using grid.SunnyBoy 3000 US, 18 BP Solar 175B panels. -
The site is off grid as it's pretty isolated. I already have panels I can use for it. approx. 800w. The grundfos looks like you can run it from DC or AC as I have a backup generator as well. I'm not wanting to put batteries on this system, just let it run into the pond when the sun is shining. The spring run off will probably finish filling the pond next spring, but I would like a fresh water source throughout the year to top it off. No real pressure to have a set amount of GPD.Comment
