Hi Trevor - Welcome to Solar Panel Talk!
Tell us about what you are getting bids on.

Thanks Russ. Haven't got all the bids yet, but currently narrowing down to a 25-30 panel array of either suniva or hyndai. Any opinions on those brands? Also looking at either microinverter or inverter/optimizers setup.Comment

I'll let others comment on the panels - for the inverters - if you have shade considerations then microinverters are probably required and if not then a normal inverter is probably better.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Comment

What are your thoughts on the Solaredge inverter - distributed optimizer setup? I will end up possibly having shade issues due to a tree as well as having to put the panels in several different areas/orientations (limited roof space). Thanks.Comment

I think SolarEdge has a better idea than Enphase. If I had shading issues, I would consider SolarEdge over Enphase. At least you don't put ALL your electronics up on the hot roof, just the optimizer circuit. And at least I think SolarEdge include labor on their warranty. Enphase doesn't.
If I don't have any shading issue at all or very little, I'd stick with string inverter.
If you're interested, google up the great microinverter debate. It's a great read.Comment

Looks like I'm going with Hyundai 265W panels with solaredge inverter/optimizers. Now the waiting begins...Comment
