What we are looking at doing, just looking into, is building our own solar panels using the cells. This already will save a whole lot of money. We can find 1kw solar cells for around $300 off ebay.

We have also decided not to use any of the greenhouses. We are looking at getting a secondhand 1kw (1.008hp) fan. Then we will use a 1 phase to 3 phase inverter. We can get 106ah (Deep Cycle) batteries for $80 each. This might be a bit pricey BUT if this works we will see if we can get this directly from China.

Thanks for your and everyone elses help we really appreciate this. Please if you think of anything else that might help we will be to happy to hear from you.

    Sincerely,
    Barry

You would be insane to build your own panels. By the time you buy all the components it will cost more than buying factory made panels
And that does not include anything for the labor to put together.
Secondly unless done very carefully and properly sealing the panels against moisture which is the enemy of solar panels will be costly and will not achieve consistent good results.
Lastly any cells you buy on ebay will not be sorted grade A cells.
They will be the rejects from some plant that makes them and without a lot of expensive test equipment you will have no way of knowing until a panel is finished and doesn't perform to design specifications.
