7 IS A PRIME number. you only have one option. All 7 in parallel. If you wired 7 in series would be an over voltage for the controller. Now if you had 6 ot 8 panels then you have options. But with 7 only 1 option.
No for the other thing you do not understand. MPPT is a power converter. Series is always better than all in parallel because you are running less current between the panels between the panels and controller which means much less line losses. The Output Current = Panel Wattage / Battery Voltage.

I just bought a Morningstar MPPT 60A controller and have 7- 100w solar panels designed for a 12volt battery system. My question is that since solar panels are a current source, wouldn't wiring them in series (7 panels in series) mean that the panel producing the least amperage wins -- thus the battery would get charged with least amount of current. Conversely, if I put all panels in parallel, then wouldn't the entire array suffer by the single panel that produces the least voltage?
I have not bought the inverter yet because I need to know if I should wire the panels in series or parallel or a combination there of.
