I have 2 seperate house centralr systems with gas furnaces by Carrier. I have called Carrier help line with no success. I am trying to figure out how many watts each unit demands to cool or heat. None of the books the installer/ dealer gave me has any info about watts draw and unfortunately, he has passed on. Is there any way to determine the amount of watts used to cool and heat? Thank you!

A straight wattmeter that size could be expensive, and it doesn't take into account cycling of the components. You can get an old PoCo
KWH meter cheaply enough (spinning disc) and wire your system through it. Check the beginning reading and then days or weeks later
to get an overall picture. Bruce RoeComment
