So I am buying 10-240watt 24 volt solar panels and was wondering the best way to hook them up would be? My CC is a FM80 and the panels will be about 150 feet away from the batteries. Thinking a series and parallel connection would be best as I'm allowed 150 volts input to the CC. I'm just not sure what size wire I should go with. Could someone also explain to me if I would be loosing power with various connections?

cc?
What is c c? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empress...eth_of_Austria ?
Google (FM-80) is a short-range air defense missile.
ah ok found it. 80 Amp charge controller best of the best they say so should not lose power there.
The 50 metre distance could lose you some if the voltage is to low.
So you plan on putting 2 rows in series and then get 120Volt?
I was looking at wiring also and was told by an electrician that the best to use is the same wire as they use when wiring the connection box up. Big wires. -
The only way to do that if they are 72 cell panels with a VOC of about 40? is 5 strings of 2 in series
What are the panel specs VOCNABCEP certified Technical Sales Professional

Thanks guys, the specs on the panels are 36.9Voc,8.9Isc, 245watts. So what I understand is that they should be wired in two strings then tied together?Comment

you can make 5 parallel strings of 2 panels in series is the only way to make all 10 work
If you used 9 you could make 3 parallel strings of 3 in series.NABCEP certified Technical Sales Professional
