Climate's what you expect. Weather's what you get.
In Feb., 1982, when I lived in Buffalo, the Buffalo NY airport had a higher monthly total GHI for that month than the San Diego airport, with a couple of days having a higher max. temp. to boot. It was an El Nino winter. Still, go figure.
I thought there was a drought so at least you are getting some rain in that area. Although it is hard on solar production.
This is just a small storm, and then they expect drought to continue. It will let us stop irrigation finally and build up our store of drinking water.

We're not off grid, but as unreliable as the grid is here, we might as well be. Wood stove and a Harbor-Freight 2 kW on a Reliant manual transfer panel. The wife and kids think it's really fun whenever there's an outage.
10kva Lister. I have wired it so it can be started from the house, the generator shed or workshop. I have a 70 amp ac charger.
If I need to charge batteries I heat and pump water and wash dry clothes at the same time.
