EpEver mppt CC problem?

Hi folks.
I suddenly got a problem on my offgrid cabin.. the amp from the array went from a "normal" 6amp down to zero! Then the charge amp is gone.. been resetting/restarting the cc, reconnected all the array connections, - cant find any errors.. the array deliver the normal voltage, but no amp. Battery is down to 80% now, so it should charge now! How can i check if its the cc or the array thats the problem?

It can be hard to determine what is wrong. It sounds like your CC is not working or for some reason your battery is not accepting a charge. It could also be a wire connection or blown fuse between the panels and CC or CC and battery.

Without being able to isolate or swap out each item I would be stressed not knowing where the issue is.

Been doing some more tests.. seems like its the cc, the charge amp come and go. It may be a internal shutoff thing or something that make it restart and go for a couple minuts, then stops. No amps. Battery is still not fully charged, so it should detect the battery. Waiting for a better multimeter to test the shortcircuit amp on the panels, just to verify that. Sent my wife down to civilization to get it

Most CC stop after a timer has expired or if the battery voltage detected is at a specific point. It is possible your CC is having issues since the battery is not "full" and it stops charging.

Have you contacted EpEver or the person you purchased the CC from? Maybe they can shed some light on the subject.

Now, i tested
the panels. Their ok. The shortcircuit amp is just like its should be. So its the cc. I suspect it to burn, becouse i upgraden the panels. I did so , the manufacter said that the cc can take the bigger panels with no damage. It will just not deliver full charge.. planed to upgrade the cc in summer and sell the old one, but now... the old one is trash, and i have to buy a new one now.. nice..

Have you done a cold reboot of the controller? The controller might be bad, or it might just be confused. I would first completely disconnect the solar wiring, then disconnect the battery wiring, to let the controller go stone-cold. After letting the controller sit there off for several minutes, reconnect the battery terminals only, and wait for the controller to boot up. You will likely need to go into the controller's menu and adjust the charge settings to the battery's optimum. If that doesn't work, then I would say yes the controller needs replacing.

Whichever CC you get make sure it is a true MMPT type. Some of them state they are that type but end up just being a glorified PWM.

Had a brand new Epever that was DOA. Is it hooked to an MT50 or computer? If so, are you able to get a comm signal? The control side of those chargers does not appear to very robust.

It was the charge controller. A new one fixed the problem..
