The point is about civility and not getting your panties in a wad every time someone new asks a question without all of the details. In this case OP tried to respond as well as he or she knew how. Then theknee-jerk questions and significant uncivil rant were unleashed
Of course more details can be helpful, but for crying out loud, this was a simple question of what gauge to run a 120 volt line for 150 feet and the OP simply needed to be told that, with the caveat that it is only the right answer up to a certain wattage. Every answer is understood to be conditional because we can't ever know every factor, but there weren't many one needs to know for this simple deal. So, yeah, its obviously conditional. Sunking was also simple, and correct.
The response to my criticism is just retreat to the technical again. Good job avoiding my real criticism of the way the OP was treated.
