wiring my kohler to my auto gen start

Anybody have any experience with this? I purchased a new kohler 14kw RESA with off grid warranty. The system is set up with a remote on/off switch. However, the problem I am having is that the manual says to set generator to auto, which means it is running all the time as it is looking for line power. Magnums AGS site says to hook it up to wire 3 and 4 which is power on/off and leave the switch to run, which means it runs all the time. There should be a way to interrupt the run cycle and let the AGS do everything. Anybody have any experience with this?

I had a similar situation with a Generac 8kw although I wasn't using a AGS I did need to start it remotely. What I ended up doing was leaving it in the manual run position and removing the fuse. I wired the fuse back in series with a switch to complete the circuit, keeping the fuse as close as possible to the board as possible so it would still provide protection as originally intended.
