AGM or Gel deep cycle batteries. need your advise

hello

im a little confused on getting either AGM or Gel deep cycle batteries for my off grid solar system. the setup is to be used for my home. some say that Gel type batteries are good but some say that AGM batteries are more efficient and its best for off grid solar system. i have no idea what to pick.

Gel batteries are not good for an off grid system. They do not handle the either the high cycle or high current charging a system like that will see.

AGM are better for fast charging but cost more and have shorter life then FLA type batteries. Unless you are worried about fluid spills if the batteries are being moved then AGM would not be my first choice.

All of the Lithuim chemistry batteries are still too young to determine if they are better then FLA.
