Interesting news from Africa. These apparently replaced existing Lead Acid technology. One of the factors that made these a better choice was their faster charge times. Apparently that part of Aprica is beset by frequent power outages.

It figures they would go with the Li chemistry batteries. Most commercial and industrial battery systems now use Li instead of the old FLA type.

Did you see that people with Powerwalls in RI and MA can earn up to $700 to $1000 a year by letting the utility use their Powerwall when demand is high.

Non I didn't but I am familiar with the concept. I think there is a similar arrangement in New Hampshire.

In 2014 lithium-ion battery packs cost $577 per KwH and in 2018 they cost $176 per KwH. Cost for battery storage will continue to fall steadily.
