FWIW even the best thermoelectric coolers have a limit on how many degrees below ambient they can cool and they are woefully inefficient compared to a refrigerant cycle machine.

Sundanzer does look like a better choice and they claim it can run directly off a battery.so even more efficient. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...content=121103Comment

Amy and everyone else, Thanks for hanging in there and the advice. I'm not locked into that fridge, actually someone else said it was not just a cooler, but a good name for an refigerator. I will be able to use some additional spare power if there is any for charging lanterns, cell phones, alarm system, etc. I'm trying to have a sustainable approach with the fridge and not impact the batteries. I have not got there yet, but understand that charge controllers will protect the batteries from over charge. I'm sure I will have uses for the extra power if there is any. I'm very flexible and just trying to learn here, on youtube and talking with my electrician friend. I'm locked into the 400 watt system as I own it, but again, the rest is up in the air. I was planning on going with 24v for smaller wiring and will take the advice on the 6v batteries. Sunking you had me; I was searching Amazon for the tumbler and trying to understand the application.Comment
