Shallow battery enclosures

I'm looking for suggestions on who may have a shallow depth battery box for 4) 8L16 batteries. Most seem to orient them lengthwise across the width of the container, but I have a need for a shallow depth (from wall) and then run the batteries end to end. Looking at the batteries at 7" wide I should be able to get away with a 12" deep/wide enclosure easily. Suggestions?

I'd really like to put them outside, but with WI winters and at a remote cabin I think that could be asking for trouble.

You may want to run them in a squared U shape - one long string will result in a 10' power lead for one terminal. But a long shallow box would be
easy to check cell levels.
Most battery boxes are home made, to fit the space and batteries. Some installs need spill proof "tub" box, some need only acid mist containment, some are for thermal control, some for hydrogen venting. What's the main reason for your box?

A fully charged battery is not likely to freeze in the lower 48 states

Mine is a "garage" installation and there is an overhead door track that limits my depth. I might still try an outdoor prebuilt box and stuff some rigid Styrofoam in it. Theoretically, We'd never have them discharged in winter as we seldom go there when dead cold and if we do we don't run much power.
