deep cycle batteries question

I have read that you aren't supposed to run a regular battery past maybe 12.2 but im wondering how low can u run a deep cycle 12 volt battery without damaging it. im guessing around 11?

The level to which you can run a deep cycle battery without damage is really no lower than the level for a cranking battery. If anything it is higher because it will not be recharged immediately like the car battery will be. What the deep cycle battery gives you is more total cycles within the allowed voltage range than you would get from a cranking battery.
