Generally no. Thing is, you can just use the KAW meter to measure watts from your household AC *beforehand* to decide what is usable with your system when you do the calculations.
Do it yourself actually! Most battery shops don't do a good job. Typically they will only charge to 13.8v and never enter an absorb phase if they touch it at all. They don't want you coming back blaming them for a bad initial charge and demanding a warrantee replacement. If they do, they might take the CYA route and only give it a superficial charge.
That's why I recommend the Tecmate-Optimate 6 or any other decent smart charger at this juncture. Not for heavy duty cycling, but for an initial charge or preventative maintenance thing.
This way you'll assure *yourself* that things are good. This is part of the step-away from relying solely on salesman, and becoming self-sufficient. THAT allows you to make smarter choices and purchases down the line as your knowledge grows.
I'm making sure my new battery get a full charge from the battery shop (Batteries Plus). (I recommend them, I was served by courteous and knowledgeable staff) before utilizing. I took your advice and had it measured over the counter, (12.6) so I had them top it off. Good call.
