I'm wondering about putting some UV blocking film on the glass of my homemade 12v panel. I also wonder about a film that has low reflection, yet still lets in all the light. Anyone ever tried this?

If there was a magic coating, it would be on the factory panels. Often, the cells inside the panels have anti-reflection coatings on them, films and coatings do not stand up to the elements well.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Its works great on my South facing windows, that aren't covered by awning in summer.
Sure Mike is correct as far as pv goes.My PV & Thermal Hot Water System.Comment

Right - I have used it on windows to reflect sunlight and it does great but as a light collector - don't think so.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Comment
