You may have confused amorphous & polycrystalline for polycrystalline & monocrystalline.

Amorphous cells look much different (nearly black) and have few top side metal grids. They also generally age much faster, but do produce a bit more power in lower light levels then X-crystalline

I actually looked, but I couldn't find any amorphous cells for sale on ebay or Amazon. All I found was amorphous panels.
