I assembled this today.
I had no cracks during the process which was good.
I encapsulated in just ordinary glass.

I havnt alot of cells togther lately. My soldering was pretty bad in this attempt

It can go past 13.5 volts and 0,23amp = 2.9Watts

That appears to be a neat, working, learning experience. The real test will be how it holds up in the next 5 years
in the sun. I built several before one would hold up. Bruce Roe

As long as you are just experimenting with those cells and do not have very high expectations of their performance IMO there is nothing wrong with what you are doing.

Enjoy, have fun, don't get any solder burns.

And remember that all electrical wires are live and energized until you determine they are really dead. Make one mistake on that and you could be pushing up daisies.

Ive never heard "Pushing up daisies"

I wear A mask and latex gloves and glasses when dealing with this stuff. I know how to be careful. I was apprentice welder at one time, and I did alot of hand plasma cutting. So I know how to be careful with extremly hot things.

I am old so I guess the "pushing up daisies" reference to being "dead and buried" is a little out of date. I also sometimes use the "6 feet under" but to each their own.

With the many years of seeing people get hurt and worse while around live electrical systems I try to stress that safety is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd thing to think about. Most experienced electrical workman get killed due to complacency. They have been doing the work for so long they sometimes forget the dangers and take shortcuts which can be hazardous.

Well even a 10 miliamp exposure for 10 seconds can be deadly.

OSHA states that any voltage below 50 (AC or DC) is low enough not to harm someone because it takes higher voltage to "bridge" across a persons body resistance. Yet if you dropped a metal wrench across a 12volt battery terminal you will get a pretty violent reaction because the wrench has very little resistance.

So it really is a combination of volts and amps that can kill you. And a lethal shock usually happens when someone allows their body to become "part of the circuit" from the voltage "source to ground" path that the electricity follows.

That is because the voltage is above 50 and the amps are high enough to kill you.
