Cell Tapping temprature

What is the best and maximum temprature for tapping the cell. All the soldering irons available around me with 40W and 60W and adjustable are comming with pointed tips and not doing good for tapping. I found one in Canadian Tire with a flat tip but it is 80W (460C/860F but not adjustable. I afraid 80W may damage the cell. Waiting for your advice from experts.Thanks in advance.

Many soldering irons have removable tips, I would shop for tips not irons. Also an 80 watt iron can be plugged into a rheostat and adjusted to the exact temperature you need.
