Simple solar circuit, help please!

Hello there, I'm new to solar power i have a some knowledge of electrical wiring but cant seem to figure out where to start with this.

Heres what i'm trying to do;

I want to have 2 small fans powered but a maybe 3/4 to 1 inch wide flexible solar strip. I want the fans to have a very small rechargeable battery back up, and a small switch to control all of this with three options; "Auto"-fans turn on with uv light, "On"-constantly on and "Off"- for obvious reasons

I have no clue where to start or find supplies so far I fan the fans which I feel is a good place to start..this is a small application.

Then you need to get some more knowledge about wiring. What we say here would likely still be gibberish. DC power and batteries can have dangerous amounts of current, even at 12V, you can do some serious arc welding.

I know this. This is why I'm posting here to learn. I work as a tig welder and worked in property management for many years. I don't know where I'd start with such a small application

No such shape panel, unless you have one in your hand right now. Otherwise, you would be getting a 5W - 20W automotive trickle charger (check ebay for VW dashboard PV panels, they use transporting cars across oceans.)

You want a small 20ah sealed AGM battery

skip 5V fans, look at 12-15v computer brushless fans with locked rotor protection

Many 12V LED lights for RV/campers

You will need a $70 charge controller to prevent overcharge of batteries

First test - wire panel directly to fans. Put in sun. If it doesn't work then you need a bigger panel.

If that passes then I'd go with a 6 volt lead acid battery (can be quite small, a few amp-hours) a regulator to drop your panel's voltage down to about 7 volts, and a second regulator to drop the battery down to 5 volts for the fan. Then your switch has three positions:
Top - fan fed directly from panel
Middle - off
Bottom - fan fed from battery

You'll probably destroy the battery in a week or so, but that will give you some insight into how things work and you'll be able to do a better job on the next one.

Thank you guys for your input. Maybe an idea of what I had in mind will help. Welding gets extremely hot. It also produces uv light. I figured if I can custom tig my helmet with this type of set up I'll be able to weld better for longer periods of times. This is why it's a small Application and computer fans won't work. They are to big.
