The most important single thing about DC breakers is that if they have a + indication on them, that should be connected to the source of the normal current flow.
Beyond that, the line versus load designation is a bit ambiguous for DC-rated breakers.

But that applies very specifically to the breakers they provide.

I don't agree. I think that (+) should be connected to the source of the FAULT current flow.
