Line Side Tap for PV and electricity provider plans-do I need a solar buyback plan?

Team - just had my 12.21kwh install done and they used a line side tap. Because of this, can I add an 8.84kw pergola onto a 50A breaker in the panel (panel rated at 225a)? I am in Fort Worth TX so wanted to see what others with a line side tap are doing if they wanted to add more solar. Thank you for the help.

Typically you just add more feeds into generation panel (the one that connects to line side tap) for additional solar, instead of feeding into main breaker panel. Adding more PV generation requires filing new permits from local municipality and electric company.
