I've a whole post that won't display...

Don't use anything that's not plain ascii text. Often the single-quote character will cause problems with this forum's software. (the single-quote gets changed to a "smart quote" by software like MSWord that you used to write the post before copying/pasting.)

If you are using Windows, I would try copying to "Notepad" then try copying from notepad to the website. (not guaranteeing that - but it's worth a try)
