UNIRAC NEW TRIM - How to Cut?

Hey all,

Recently Unirac came out with their new all black product line, featuring a skirt which they call "SM TRIM 168" DRK - NEW"

Part # 206072D-B


Finally! Something to shut up the sales reps at SolarCity. However, it only comes in 168" (14') and I am wondering how to properly cut the trim, and if I will then have to paint / seal the exposed cut end.


Anyone use this yet?!

A portable bandsaw would probably be best, but a hack saw or reciprocating saw should work fine. You don't have to pain the ends, it is aluminum, and will be just fine. You could hit it with some paint just to make it look better though. It's no different than cutting the rails.
