    Low voltage disconnect- advice needed

    Hi All,


    I'm a newbie and I've just set up a very small system to run a few things around the house. The system consists of a 130 ah agm battery, 20 amp eco worthy charge controller, 600w inverter, 160 watt solar panels.I purchased a Projecta 50 amp low voltage disconnect. It has a battery and load connection, plus a ground and ignition wire.
    My question is what is the best method of dealing with the earth and ignition wire on the LVD ? Any advice appreciated , Tony

    The way I interpret the instructions, the purpose of the remote/ignition wire is to allow you to open the LVD directly by removing power from the "ignition" lead.
    That would allow you to configure the unit so that the accessory loads that are connected through the LVD will never get power unless the ignition is in the ON or ACCESSORY position (depending on where you connect it. For your household system you could make use of this as a remote disconnect switch, or you can just bypass that function by wiring the ignition lead through a fuse to the battery + terminal itself.

    The ground wire should be connected to the battery negative, since you will not have a metal vehicle chassis to carry the negative side of the control circuit. Neither the ignition wire nor the ground wire will carry anything but control current in either case.

      Thanks for the advice inetdog.It makes sense. That's the LVD I have. I'll go ahead and connect is up, and post some pics soon Tony
