Connecting Batteries to inverter and controller

I am expanding my battery bank to 8x 6 volt 200AH batteries (currently 4). I have a 24 volt system. I will be using series/parallel wiring for the batteries (to bring to 400AH). What is the best way to connect both the wires from the controller to the batteries and from the batteries to the inverter? Do you connect the incoming charge (from the controller) to the same battery posts you use to connect the outgoing current to the inverter? Use different ones? Any help greatly appreciated.

The CC and the inverter should connect to the same place (but with their own fuses!).

On this same note, is it okay (for convenience, in this case), to tie onto both the terminals and the lugs of your batteries? I have batteries that have both terminals and lugs, and the terminals are rather full, so I was thinking of attaching something onto the lugs.

If those "terminals and lugs" are at the same battery post then it should work. What is the make and model of those batteries so I can find them and see what they look like or post a picture of it.
