Question: Connect a charger through a charge controller?

Hello, I am making a diy portable solar generator nothing too big and fancy, 4x 12v 12AH SLA AGM Batteries, 100W/200W 12v/110v Inverter and a 10A charge controller to charge my drills and other low amp electronics when I work on cottages on islands/areas that have no power.

I would like the option to charge my batteries at night with AC power for when my pack is running low and I need it the following morning, I have a 1250ma Sealed Lead Acid battery charger and I am wondering if I could connect it through the charge controller instead of directly to the batteries.

    Would this work?

    Thank you in advance!

No connect it to the batteries that it was designed for.

Sorry, no. Chargers and batteries need to be closely matched, to prevent cooking either one.

Thanks, I was hoping to use the same port to plug in the solar panel and the charger, guess I will have to use separate ones.
