Best way to wire battery bank

I did some preliminary searching, and couldn't find anything similar.
I am planning on a 48volt battery bank. Using 6 volt (similar to L16s), sixteen of them.
I was planning on wiring 8 in series on one side and 8 on the other, and then wiring the 2 strings in parallel.

I am using 2/0 AWG cable to run between the batteries.

My question is when I connect the two strings, so they are parallel, what is the best way to wire this into the e panel? I thought I would run a 2 foot piece of cable off the two positive strings (from each side), tie them together with the e panel input. Is there a 3 way connector or should I just use a bolt and bolt the 3 lugs together? Or should I just wire the two strings together at the terminals, and have the battery output (e panel input) coming off one of the two sides terminals. Same would be done for the negative ?

Thank you in advance and any of your wisdom would be much appreciated.

Each string should be fused or DC ckt breaker protected. Midnight Solar sells DC breakers rated for 150 & 300VDC. Any fuse should be rated for 50VDC also.
read the article at Smartgauge, about wiring parallel banks on the Diagonal:
