    Questionable batteries

    I am new to this. Consequently, I've been buying cheap stuff to experiment with. I haven't made it to Sams Club or Walmart to look for batteries and the only evidence that they even sell them has been posts in forums. The batteries are not on their websites.

    Anyhow, I found the following deal at O'reillys, an automotive store in the southeast and thought they might appeal to others wanting to get their feet wet without giving their arm and their leg.

    Super Start - Golf Cart/Electric Vehicle Battery
    Part Number: GC110DT
    Line: SSB

    * 6 Volt
    * Dual Terminal
    * Minutes At 25 Amp: 435
    * Length: 10-1/4"
    * Width: 7-1/8"
    * Height: 10-7/8"
    * UPC: 83996195295

    Price is $115 each with no trade in and they have a 2 year warranty.
    Not so bad.

    EDIT ADD: cookie time here is very very short!

    Whoops, just noticed that amp hours would only be 7.25@25 amps, right?

    I often answer posts with nonsense answers, maybe because I am trying to get my post count up to evade moderators.

      That's 181 AH at a 7 hour rate, likely close to 200ah at 20hr rate. About standard , maybe a little steep for that price.

        FWIW O'reillys like any other chain store does not make batteries. In this case I believe they are made by Interstate. If not Interstate then US Battery. Between those two companies they make all the batteries for retailers and slap whatever name the store is on them.

          Yes sir. You are right on both accounts. As it happens, I work at a motorcycle dealership, so I called Interstate.
          I can get interstate batteries at cost!! Yeah!!

          Doesn't Johnson Controls make some of these re-labeled batts?

          ...who knows. Tomato, tomahto. I would like to have rolls or trojan, but I can get Interstates on the cheap and have them delivered right to my truck. It's worth a go for me.
